About The Bay

The Bay is a purpose built holiday resort set in a peaceful location and surrounded by well-maintained parkland and beautiful meadows and lakes. The site is on a secure gated complex and offers a wide array of amenities on-site. Its is open all year round which means you can stay here at any part of the year.

On-site activities are available. As part of your booking at Willow Cottage, you will benefit from completely free use of the Gym, Swimming Pool, Sauna and Steam Room.

The site benefits from the following additional amenities, all within a short few minute walk from Willow Cottage:

The John Paul Jones Pub (this is dog friendly) and has a very good food and drinks menu and served by friendly welcoming staff. They boast a stone pizza oven and serve food using quality ingredients. The pub is open 365 days a year, even on Christmas Day!
The Four Cats Pizzeria (also dog friendly) and serves up a wide array of pizza along with a selection of wine, beer, spirits and cold drinks. Unfortunately the restaurant is closed during December and January.
General Store selling food, snacks, ice-cream, newspapers, magazines and alcohol.
Pharmacy is also on hand for any medical needs or requirements.

The Local Area

A few minutes walk through the holiday resort brings you to a winding path that leads directly onto Filey Beach. The beach is vast and stunning and has a glorious 5 mile wide stretch of golden sands!

A nice 45 minute walk across the beach towards Filey Town brings you to a historical promenade with a sculpture park and beach chalets. There is a wide array of pubs, restaurants, coffee shops and snack bars as you enter the town.

Filey Brigg is very close by and has some excellent rock pools to explore. In addition, this marks the start and end of the Cleveland Way Walk.

Flamborough Lighthouse is only 11 miles away and offer tours of the lighthouse. Once the 119 steps have been climbed, the views are truly magnificent.

Bempton Cliffs is home to an RSPB Nature Reserve with Puffins, Seals, Porpoises, Gannets amongst a wide array of birds and all set in a stunning conservation area.

Bridlington is only 15 mins drive and around 8miles away and offers independent shops, boat trips and various entertainment venues including Spa Theatre, Park Rose Birds Of Prey and Animal Park, Leisure Centre as well as an impressive harbour.

Scarborough is home to a 12th century castle that offers stunning views over the dramatic Yorkshire coastline. There is a Sea Life centre to visit, Scarborough Spa that is a beautiful Victorian building and plays host to various concerts. There is also an Open Air Theatre playing host to the likes of Lional Richie, Bryan Adams, Tears For Fears and Simply Red to name a few. It has a vast array of high street shops, restaurants and traditional pubs. Try to visit Peasholm Park an oriental themed public park with boating, waterfalls and stunning landscaped gardens. No wonder it was voted the 6th best park in the UK by TripAdvisor.

Sewerby Hall and Gardens is a grand Georgian House with beautiful gardens and a zoo. This is just before you reach Bridlington.

Alpamare Water Park & Spa is located at Scarborough and is a unique experience like nothing seen in the UK before. Definitely worth a visit.

North Yorkshire Water Park offers fishing and a wide variety of water sports such as kayaking, paddle boarding, wake boarding and open water swimming. Located only a few miles away towards Scarborough and a little inland.
